The Quest Alliance has expertise in all aspects of "Business Improvement", whether from a Diagnostic and Analysis perspective, or from an Improvement perspective. We are expert in the application of all of the tools and methods of the Quality Sciences. As with any organization, different members of the Alliance have greater strengths and skills than other members. However, there is considerable overlap in the skills and capabilities of members of The Quest Alliance. This overlap constitutes the Core Competencies of the organization.

The greatest and most universal competency of the organization is that of Quantitative (Statistical) Analysis. All of the members of the Alliance are highly skilled in the application of Quantitative tools for business problem solving and decision making. All Alliance members are fluent in the use of a wide variety of statistical tools (from basic, such as SPC and Process Description and Characterization to advanced, Experimental Design and Advanced Statistical Analysis).

A second competency of the organization is Problem Solving. The considerable skill set and experience of alliance members in solving problems of all degrees of complexity is is based in the quantitative capabilities of the Alliance members. Indeed, the organization has expertise in the application of a variety of highly successful problem solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, Problem Prevention and Analysis, and the use of a proprietary methodology of problem solving outlined in a Problem Elimination System which integrates a variety of tools and methodologies for solving problems of a variety of types, such as event based problems, problems associated with process variability, either common or special.

Another competency is associated with the integration of the two previously mentioned topics, and that is Training. The Quest Alliance has outstanding trainers with both considerable academic teaching experience and practical application experience. The many course offerings of The Quest Alliance are presented with clarity, and competence. The instructors (all experienced Alliance Members) have conducted the training courses numerous times with a variety of clients. The courses are presented in a "real world" context and are heavy laden with practical examples and problems for participants to work on.

The Quest Alliance also has expertise in the implementation of improvement and control systems. Not only is it necessary to solve problems, but once solutions are identified and validated, they must be implemented and controlled on an ongoing basis.
